A business associate offered me a six-inch Police Positive in .32, with a serial number of 599XX (1912, if I read it right).
It's fairly rough, with a dirty bore and superficial corrosion. It's also a bit sticky, presumably with old grease.
I sort of passed on it, because I prefer shooters. But, is the six-inch version anything a little special? I could probably get it for $100.
Thanks
Bill

$100 seems to be a good price. Isn't that reason enough?

I come up with 1907, which would be the first year of issue. The 6" barrel is much less common than the shorter barrels in .32. If it cleans up at all, it's worth a hundred bucks.
