smith recommendation for Woodsman

New member here looking for a smith that is known for working on Colt Woodsmen's? I have 11 of these pistols in all variants with a couple that need barrel replacements. Previous owners have cut them down for various reasons so I'm on the prowl for replacements. Also have a few that need quality re-bluing and removal of engraving pencil attempts. I'm in the DFW area so the closer the better.

Any competent gunsmith will be able to remove and replace barrels - IF you can find the barrels. Prewar barrels have RH thread, postwar Woodsman barrels have LH threads.
There is a very good gun smith at B&S on Belt line just south of I-30. His name is Rudy, he loves to work on Colts. Give him a try. Not that I like B&S guns I think they are too high there. But Rudy has been my gun smith for 25 years plus and that just happens to be where he works now. Good Luck. p.s. that is in Garland not Grand Prairie.
I shot my '27 Woodsman for the 1st time today, It is a sweety . Is the slide suppose stay open on shot 10, mine does not. Do you know a good Woodsman smith in the Houston area? Also,I made a big mistake in ordering Triple K mags. I had to hammer one of them out of the well. I didn't try the other. $80 down the toilet. Know of any good mag clones? Thanks in Advance
Great, have done business with B&S before, didn't know they had a resident gunsmith though. So Rudy's the man, this is the B&S on the East side of Beltline just south of the I30 overpass?

Yes it is. When you go in the door the gunsmith area will be in the back on the left side........ Good Luck. I purchased a 1936 model woodsman about two months ago. I took it to him to do a complete cleaning and go over to make sure all was OK. He said the inside looked brand new and cleaned and lubed it up...Rudy is a good man. Dennis
