My Mother's cousin Ca.1915 on ranch in Davis Mtns. West Texas - I have the Colt --
She was a teacher, never married. Ca.1960-65 I arrived in Houston & she picked me up in her 1940 Chevy coupe with 90K miles on it & still like new, she then 75-80.
rhmc24, In the first picture of your G-Father; I believe I can make out a youngster's face peeping around the shade of the window just above the horse's head, slightly right.
I figure this shooting club was about the very early 1900`s around Bettendorf Iowa as that is where my Grandpa was from and I found it in his stuff. I might have showed it here before. Not exactly a western picture.
A chain gang and lawmen in Borger, Texas during the period of extreme chaos that ensued after the discovery of oil there in 1926. Of all the oil boomtowns in Texas, it was in Borger that things got most out of control. Note the chain linking the prisoners. Notice the 2 lawman standing on the right. One has what appears to be a Colt SAA carried "Mexican Style". The other guy has what may be a holstered S&W. Hard to tell by the shape of the gripframe.

Seen a old picture of a guy who rode a buffalo. Back in 1961 I was working for the NPS in the Grand Tetons. We were playing cards late one night in our bunkhouse and two guys came to our door for help. Early that morning they were hiking high above us. They said a bull moose chased them up a tree. It left once so they climbed down and they said it came again from nowhere charging them again and again they climbed the tree and it kept them up until after dark. They said they seen our lights far below and decided to run for our camp. They were pretty hyped up.
A guy who lives a couple miles away rides a longhorn steer. He uses a bridle and saddle. Looks like Mongo from Blazing saddles.
