I'm looking at HKS Speedloaders trying to find one that would work with my 1937 Colt Officers Model .38. They don't list any going back that far.

My cylinder is 1.5" diameter. Can anyone tell me which of the later Colt Models are close enough to that size so that speedloaders for them might just work for mine?

HKS Speedloaders:

Model 586A ~ .38/.357 6-shot ~ Colt New Service .38 Special

Model MK3A ~ .38/.357 6-shot ~ Colt Trooper MK3 & MK5, King Cobra, Peacekeeper

Model PYA ~ .38/.357 6-shot ~ Colt Python, Officers Model Match

Thanks,

Billy

The PYA should be exactly the right size. Specifying it for a Python and OMM pretty much specifies it for all E and I frame revolvers. The Mk3A is probably close enough to work because of the "wiggle". In other words, buy the PYA but don't pass up a free MK3A. :)
