Here is a pair from 1901, 38wcf. Modern David Harris engraving. Up on GB now @ $17.5K. Some old ivory and pretty guns though. Being sold by the folks that own Standard.
Here are mine: a 1921 .45 7 1/2" and a 1910 vintage .38 WCF Bisley . I shoot the .38-40 regularly along with a nice Marlin 1889 deluxe in the same caliber.
First Gen Colt’s are beautifully made and I am fortunate enough to have several, and I have several second gen and a bunch of third gen. I love them all, shoot all and the OP’s nasty comments concerning all but first gen is not taken kindly.
Single Actions used by Jimmy Wakely. Jimmy Wakely made 28 westerns, had a TV series, comic books and was a Country and Western singer and star. Jimmy is in the Country and Western hall of fame and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. During his time he was as well known as Gene Autry and Roy Rogers. One is a first generation Western Costume Company marked Colt and the other is a first year Great Western.
1886 SAA owned and carried by Francis Marion Berry Francis who worked as a detective for the Union Pacific Railroad, and later became a constable for Riverside County. Francis was also a Driver on the “R” Line Street car in Los Angeles, CA. and later became a flagman at 7th and Alameda in Los Angeles, CA. I'm guess he carried while chasing

32-20 made in 1905 that I bought locally a few years ago. It is all original including the springs, and the grips are matching. I have not shot it because I would change out the springs if I were going to shoot it, and I don't want to change a thing. I have not had it lettered - features are similar to documented Copper Queen Mine guns right around it in serial number.
I really like my 1st Gen guns. I like them a lot. Then you post another one of yours and mine get relegated to the "rust bucket" category. It is depressing. So depressing I'm gonna go stack hay....again. It is mindless work and will hopefully help make my "old rusted Colt's" depression better 🤣
Unsure, doesn't have the hole but there seems to be some uncertainty as to when those pins were phased out. It does look too good to be original. Had to tighten some screws when I got it, hammer screw and a TG screw.
