These darn Colts are addictive.

Went to a small local show this weekend and ran into a friend that trades and sells to enhance his collection. I took a near mint nickel Smith 37 with the idea of trading it and my friend had an unfired mint 32cal 1953 Cobra he had just traded for. I dangled the M37 In front of him and we both agreed on an even swap. I’m really pleased.

The only negative was the Coltwood plastic grips had shrunk and cracked and someone had stuck some Goodyears on it. What ugly out of proportion grips! I found a like new set of original Colt wooden grips so I will have it 100% this week.

NIB 1971 Detective Special with "Sand Blast Nickel" Finish (1 of 100). Yes, that is the original box. For some reason the entire run of these revolvers were sold/shipped by the distributor in "Craft" style boxes. Here's a link to a thread on this forum when a pair of consecutive serial number examples were offered up for sale back in 2015. I should have bought those as well...

Not a great photo - don't quit my day-job - of the three D-frames that I've purchased in the last month. I put these on the Detective Special thread also.

From top to bottom:
1) PPS no 309xxx with post-wwII DS barrel
2) Pre-DS PPS no. 312xxx with 2 inch barrel marked on "38 Special"
3) DS no. 351xxx marked only with "38 Special"

Hello very nice snub nose revolvers and I like the old leather to nice

Found and rescued this 1976 Agent from a lgs. Had some end shake so I stretched the gas bushing and cleaned it up on my little lathe.
Most irritating thing was someone took their walmart screwdriver to sideplate screw 😒
So I made an expedient "repair" on the sideplate nose using a matching auto paint.

She looks much better now...
