They are called the Armed Forces for a reason

After this latest mass shooting on a military base, we will of course hear about more gun bans. first off ,this man was deranged with prior arrests and a mental health history, still allowed clearance to work on base. The base security was substandard and done on the cheap. The big factor to me is ,why after Fort Hood ,are officers on base unarmed ,or rather disarmed? This need to be changed ,like yesterday. All personnel above the rank of Sergeant need to carry a sidearm ,24 /7. My choice would be the new Colt Marine pistol. No more unarmed victims on base . Enough is enough

Last night I heard micael savage saying the same thing. Did you get that fromm him? Now I like savage and usualy agree with him but I am not sure he is accurate on what he said last night. He blamed clinton for disarming the armed services. I have not been in the military. However I am 72 years old and I just dont recall seeing many officers walking around in the private sector many years ago armed. It would seem that if a man is in the military, trained and sanctoned to fight and kill for his country that he should be trusted to pack a gun. Of course they can be old enough to be sent to fight and die but not old enough yet to vote and drink! Amazing country!
What really amaze`s me is this guy gets drumed out with a general discharge, has a bad record of anger, guns, shooting through the ceiling, shooting out someones tires etc, yet gets hired right back in doing wht he done for probley double r triple the money as a "consultant"? Says a lot for the security people that do security checks doesnt it?

The last news brief said he entered the base with only a shotgun. Guess he got the other arms off the guards he killed/wounded. I wonder if the gun-grabbers will push to ban shotguns now.
No maybe Savage got it from me
according to USA today, he had one shotgun and a handgun ,he took a second handgun off a wounded guard. Ask yourself this. Do we require police officers to man stations unarmed? What is the logic here ,other than politically correct namby pambyism ? Of course all the talking heads described his weapon an "AR 15 Assault Weapon, capable of 3 shot burst fire" Feeling stupid yet ? What would have changed if this guy were faced with a withering fusillade of fire returned from a half dozen or so decent shots armed with 45acp or 9mm caliber handguns? Cooled quick, no yellow ribbons ,just one body bag. As it should be
As I see it, the two problems here are Privacy Concerns with respect to mental illness and Political Correctness, which I define as a substitute for those who lack common sense. Guns were here before this country was. And this country isn't the one I grew up in. When I was growing up, if you didn't get a .22 for your 12th birthday or the nearest Christmas, then you must have done something pretty bad because that's when all you friends got theirs.

Now, all the talking heads are complaining about lousy background checks on this Navy Yard lunatic. They should have been listening to LaPierre, when he was complaining to the Senate subcommittee about the broken background check system after Sandy Hook. Fix what's broken before you expand it? That only sounds reasonable to those with common sense. I see few of those among the "Elite." I also heard a psychiatrist say (can't remember if on C-SPAN or another cable network) that if he had to turn over his mental health records to the government, he would start leaving things out of his patients' files! Probably afraid he'd get sued under HIPAA.

I don't get Savage on local stations, but I heard the comment about that occurring under Clinton on one of the cable networks--I was bouncing around so much, I don't remember which one.

A lady worth listening to is that doctor in charge of treating those three wounded. On MSNBC, where I go to get the anti-gun take on things, but maybe other networks as well, by now. I didn't hear her mention guns--only that this country has changed.

I almost always carried a concealed handgun on duty, 90% of the time in violation of some rule or another......almost got in trouble a few times when I was a Major, told the Colonel on first occasion and General on the other my thinking, which was "if something f---ed up happens and nobody in here has a gun, I am not going to look on helplessly while something happens to my men.....period". The O6's response was "where can I get a holster like that" and the O7 was "forget I mentioned it". Sometimes a Detective Special.....but I have a little Seecamp that has been in more embassies than a Columbian hooker.

I also listen to Michael Savage and he has said many times that Bill (bubba) Clinton disarmed the military. I will yield to Michael Savage. I don't always agree with him but he's been right many times. no matter our military is in sorry shape because of bubba and now Obama. which military base is next? and don't forget about Benghazi.
Can you say Colt Pocketlite. Is my constant companion ,and I am a revolver guy. Beats the heck out of no gun.
The thing that I don't get is "This is a Military Base". On duty soldiers should have sidearms." If this were the case those shooters would have been dispatched quickly with minimal loss of life. How a "consultant" can get anywhere in a military base armed totally defies logic. It seems as if base security is being done ineffectively and "on the cheap".Screw whether Clinton or Obama is responsible, find out the deficency and correct it now.....JMHO.
