After this latest mass shooting on a military base, we will of course hear about more gun bans. first off ,this man was deranged with prior arrests and a mental health history, still allowed clearance to work on base. The base security was substandard and done on the cheap. The big factor to me is ,why after Fort Hood ,are officers on base unarmed ,or rather disarmed? This need to be changed ,like yesterday. All personnel above the rank of Sergeant need to carry a sidearm ,24 /7. My choice would be the new Colt Marine pistol. No more unarmed victims on base . Enough is enough

according to USA today, he had one shotgun and a handgun ,he took a second handgun off a wounded guard. Ask yourself this. Do we require police officers to man stations unarmed? What is the logic here ,other than politically correct namby pambyism ? Of course all the talking heads described his weapon an "AR 15 Assault Weapon, capable of 3 shot burst fire" Feeling stupid yet ? What would have changed if this guy were faced with a withering fusillade of fire returned from a half dozen or so decent shots armed with 45acp or 9mm caliber handguns? Cooled quick, no yellow ribbons ,just one body bag. As it should be
