While my wife and I were in my favorite LGS on Saturday getting a S&W Shield EZ .380 for her, I went through the latest police property room that they had taken in trade. After rummaging through shelves of the worst junk that you can imagine, I found these diamonds in the rough.

1) S&W Perfected .38 S&W caliber with the top break and the thumb latch.
2) S&W Model of 1903 .32 Long
3) Hopkins and Allen “Acme Hammerless No. 1 1/2" .22 Long caliber. This 7 shooter has a factory safety!

Best,
Charles

Very cool pick-ups!!

The police department where I lived in New Mexico used to do that with guns. No such luck here. Now a couple of forward-thinking city councilmen are talking about a gun buy-back, adding those to the property room guns and melting them ALL down for a statue against gun violence.

At first I laughed at this thinking it was a joke, but then again, perhaps it's not. I would hate to think of what a statue against gun violence would look like...

Interesting mix of rather old guns that found their way into a police property room. It give you an idea of just how many of those things are still around in that particular region. Here in Sou Cal I imagine that the majority of confiscated guns are cheap Lorcins and Jennings, sawed off and cut down stocks Marlin Glenfield .22's, a favorite of gang members, Hi Points and stolen Glocks.

The majority of the guns in these police seized lots are every variety of bent and broken garbage known to man. There are occasionally a few roses among the thorns!!!!
