I have a Colt Trooper marked “Trooper .357” SN 62,XXX. It is an “I” frame gun with internal firing pin, Colt target grips, silver medallion, wide hammer. Any references I have found seems to be for Trooper or a Colt .357 model - not Trooper .357. It seems nearly identical to a Colt OMM that I also own with the exception of caliber and front sight. Can anyone shed any light on this?

According to TBOCF, the Troopers were marked Colt Trooper with the caliber designation on a second line until about 1967. Around then, the word Colt was dropped and the caliber designation was added to the first line as on yours. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I bought a 357 4" trooper, new for $108 in 1969 or 1970. Gonna try posting the picture of a deer I shot with it below. Also have a 22 trooper just like it.
