Does the MK III and the mkv carry the same frame in 357?

Not sure about the complete frame but I do know the grip frame is not the same. There is a comparison someone posted in the No Love for MK III thread. Good info.
The frames are different.

Most of the difference is in the butt area.
The Mark III has a full profile square butt shape, the Mark V has a rounded smaller butt that's designed to use grips that wrap all the way around, front and back.

The Mark V also has a different seat location for the mainspring.
Thanks dfaris, pretty sure I'm gonna be looking for a mkv frame now because of the grips

how about compared to the lawman MKIII snub ? It appears from my memory at least to be very similar to the mkv
For the look I'm going for I'd really like from what I can find about them is the colt to be the same as what I've got now which is the 84/85 yr symbol. Looks like before around 82 they may have been different

The Colt Lawman Mark III used a special grip that was exclusive to it. It would fit no other Colt revolver, and no other Colt grip would fit it.

Here's a Lawman Mark III and a Lawman Mark V.

The 2" Lawman MKV has the same grip frame as the 4" Lawman MKV, Trooper MKV, Anaconda, King Cobra, and Peacekeeper. All stocks/grips will interchange from these models where as dfaris states, the 2" Lawman MKIII stocks won't interchange with any other MKIII J frames.

All righty then, Now. With all these frames/grips interchanging I'm assuming the python barrel will mate to any of the above flawlessly? Correct?

Nope.
Depends on what you mean by flawlessly.
Denis
Also depends on the Python barrel.
The Old Style thread barrels have two front sight pins. These will not fit any of the later Colt revolvers like the Mark III or later.
The New Style thread barrels have one front sight pin. These have the same threads as the Mark III and later.

Whether a New Style Python barrel will mate properly to a later type frame is another question.
There may be issues with match-up of the ribs and ejector rod recesses.
My best guess is that you could install a Python barrel on a later Colt, since that's just what Colt did with the Colt Boa.

This would not be a job for a local gunsmith. You'd need an experienced barrel expert with all the correct tools.
Thanks for all the input
