Does the Trooper III, circa early 70's, share a grip size as any other recent Colt revolver? I am specifically looking for some rubber combat style grips to fit my Trooper.

I think not. The only rubber grips I can find for my Lawman MkIII are Pachmayr target style. They are available in large or small with and without medallions including Colt. Some only fit the round butt.
