Thank you Diamondback68 for the date of manufacture of my Python. Confirmed that my 4" Bright Stainless Steel Python T295XX was made in 1984. The person I bought it from - online at GA - advertised it as "Bright Stainless Steel", but isn't 1984 still in the nickel era, at least one year before bright stainless? The Utlimate stainless became available in 1985. I'm not an expert in any way on bright finishes, but this one looks like it has a bluish tinge to it indicating polished stainless, vs. the goldish tinge of nickel, but that could be wishful eyes. I paid for a stainless steel gun, not nickel, so any suggestions on how to confirm this is stainless and not nickel? Thanks.

There will also be an "S" stamped in the center of the cylinder under the ejector.

Also, bright stainless guns are not polished under the grips, or in out of the way areas like under the ejector or inside the ejector rod recess in the barrel.

If it's shiny in those places, it's nickel.

Whew! There is an "s" stamped into the ejector rod housing and it isn't bright polished. Same with under the grips. Looks like stainless. If it was made in '84-'85, it must be one of the first Ultimate Stainless models.
Thanks to everybody for putting me at ease!
