Thank you for replying. I am new to this. What does "Interchangabiluty Test" mean. I am guessing the second part means that a the 26th gun after mine went to the 117th infantry? Do I have that correct
The Bucket,

Welcome to the Forum !

Interchangeability test, basically, means that parts from different Pistols were interchanged to determine if fit and function meet standards. (For those that have it, see the Clawson big book Pages 192 - 194 for WWI.)

And, the No 507665 Pistol, was documented (in the archives) in/on paperwork dated 24 Aug 1933, with the 117th infantry.

Best Regards,

I picked up a CMP. I got a Colt letter saying it was delivered October of 1918 (serial 507638) It had a long life where the Agusta Arsenal at some point converted it to a 1911m1 and put a High Standard barrel in it.

Anybody tell me anything else. Like when it was delivered and to wich Arsenal?

Any other insights.

I know it is hard to tell but looks like a ww1 slide and frame
The Bucket,

Pistol No 507638, was not shipped to an Arsenal. It was one of 3150 Pistols (in the serial number range (463373 - 508875), shipped on 29 Oct 1918, to the Ordnance Officer, Bush Terminal, Brooklyn, New York (A.E.F.). (It was sent direct to the War.)

Here's what it looked like (minus some wear) when it left COLT.

Best Regards,
