May have a chance at a Python that my dealer friend got in from an estate.Looks to be perfect shape, no handling marks, fired,no box,E series number.
What's fair to both of us? Thanks.

If he is a dealer, he is probably going to put a $900-1000 price tag on it anyway. He may sell to you for less, since you two are friendly.

Barrel length and finish will also play on value.
Unless I missed it, I didn't see if it was a 2.5 inch nickel or a 6 inch blued version or a ???
Several hundred dollar difference in those 2 guns alone.
Keep that in mind.

6 inch blue.My dealer friend generally prices things a little on the low side, likes to move 'em,not run a museum. As fair and honest as they come-however the widow doesn't trust him eventhough her husband dealt there for the last thirty years, not to mention someone is advising the widow that the stuff is worth about 50% above market. Here in NY, handguns have to go to a dealer or Police HQ within ten days of a passing.
