Value of Diamondback .38 Spec. 6\"blue- NIB

Could someone please give me the value of a Colt Diamondback 38 special, 6" blue, new in original box with tags. I bought this gun new in 1980 or 1981. Thanks

Johnbon,

That depends if you are anywhere besides the anti-gun state of California where I am from. If it was here and up for sale, I would venture to say $900 - $1200. Now that is new in box with all tags hanging.

There is only one octagon shaped cauton tag that hangs from the trigger guard. The instruction booklet is still taped to the styrafoam case and has never been opened. One of the flaps was tore off the colt box, I still have it, I could tape it back on. Thanks for the help.

6" blue .38SPLs are not that uncommon. In my neck of the woods, I would expect between $800 to $1000. Since it has box and all, it may fetch a little more.

For the guys keeping track, I saw a 4" nickel .38SPL NIB today at a gunshow with an asking price of $1250. I didn't need it and passed. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Dick:

Is that about the going price for a NIB DB in 4: 38spec?

That was his asking price for one in nickel.
4" blue .38SPL are still in the $650 to $800 range depending on condition.
