Value of shooter grade 4\" Diamondback

I am looking for a more or less 85% 4-inch D'back for field use. What should I expect to pay for one with original stocks, and for one without original stocks? Your guess would be appreciated.

Hey RAMS,
It all depends on your location (Fort Worth),
and if it's coming from a private party, a Pawn shop or Gun Dealer.
A Colt Collector may try to charge $500-$550
Where as a Pawn shop may sell you one in the $350-$450 range.
Gun shows & dealers from $350 to the moon depending on whom you're dealing with and the knowledge or lack of from the other side of the table.
Minty original stocks run from as low as $50 to as high as $75. Please keep that in mind when shopping.

What does D-back dick have to say about all this ????

Just my 2 pesos, Jeff (GUNKWAZY)

Jeff pretty much nailed it, I would not go over $500 for one with original stocks, without original stocks less, cause I've seen nicer ones I could have had for $550 recently, but did not need it or want one in that condition, so I passed.
JMHO
Does that help any?

A friend of mine picked one up at a gun show last November in a condition much like you describe. It did have real decent original stocks. Functioned fine, nice for a shooter but holster wear was obvious. He got it for $425 OTD. BTW 38 Spec.
