I'm getting ready to liquidate my Colt collection and in setting everything out to inventory, I noticed something that has me concerned.

I have 2 Vipers, one blued and one nickle. The nickle Viper has a wide target hammer, ala Diamondback or Python. The blued viper has the narrow, Detective Special type hammer.

This seems odd, since the Vipers were only made for one year, that they would have two hammer styles.

The blued Viper serial number is correct for a Viper, and the nickle Viper is NIB with all the correct matching info.

So.....Hammer swapped? Rebarrelled? Colt weirdness???

Inquiring minds want to know....Plus I'd hate to misreperesent the guns when I go to sell them!

What say you?

Thanks!

With such a limited production gun, who knows.

You could try asking Colt, but they usually don't have much to offer over the phone other than the year made.
