A man wrote me 3 years ago looking for a King rear sight to replace his broken King sight. He sent pictures, I sold him the sight and tried to buy the gun. Recently he wrote and said he was ready to sell.

It has King front and rear sights and is engraved in the style of Orville Kuhl, who did a lot of engraving for King back in the day.

It came with a nice pair of original grips, but I think the pearl looks good with the engraving.

BTW, he threw in 2 extra "as new" magazines.

I typically do not like animal depictions on engraved firearms but that one is very tasteful. Beautiful piece, when can we expect the range report? :D Congrats on a patient deal coming through
It's gorgeous! I'd have an ear to ear grin if it were mine!
Beautiful!!
Beautifully done. I don't know much about these pistols, what is the age of this Woodsman?
Congrats, certainly worth the wait - she's beautiful!
OH MY.....my hands are shakin' and my knees are weak...just breathtaking to gaze upon...in sixty years I've never seen a Colt like that done up in such a pleasing manner.....I do not suppose you'd trade for my old Huntsman would you.....didn't think so....but you never know....
And so it goes...
You always get good stuff, Bob - congratulations!

I agree not fond of animal depiction as they remind me of the workman grade engraving on the old Merwin's but this has a certain appeal especially with the pearls.
I'm not an engraving type guy but I have to say, whether you like Oak Leaf, flowers, scroll, or animals, the level of excellence of engraving on this Colt is outstanding. To me that trumps what style of engraving it is.

Modern factory engraving seems very sparse to me. If I wanted an engraved gun I would want one with almost complete coverage. No sense just putting one toe in the water :D
Replacement sights and grips, non factory engraving, two extra triple k mags, hope you didn't overpay! LOL :)

I don't think I'll lay awake worrying about it! ;-)

Three years ago he asked for my opinion as to its value. I gave him my honest opinion and that is what he sold it to me for 3 years later. And he included the two extra magazines.

1937. Two years older than I am, but in much better shape. I'm very high mileage but I do still have all original parts.

I think the rabbit and squirrel are fitting for a .22 LR. The bear and the Indian not so much.
Wow..that is smoking hot!!!
