I have a new 70 Series with Walnut grips. Is it normal (acceptable) for the grips to be a little loose? My concern is if I were to tighten down the screws too much, would the walnut grips crack?

Thanks.

The screws should not be loose enough for the grips to actually move. If they are just tighten them down until the grips stop moving. You would have to really tork them down to actually split the wood.

You can try a drop of Locktite on the screws. Just make sure you use the kind that will allow you to take the screws out when needed.

I'll try to torque 'em a little more. I'll consider the locktite option if the screws happen to loosen up from shooting. Thanks fellas.

Take off the stocks first and make sure the bushings are tight in the frame. Then put the stocks back on and tighten the screws.
