I have a blue '80s 4" worked on by Walt Sherman--roller sear, timing, etc, and engraved by David Harris from Texas. Would this beautiful thing be appreciating in value more or less than plain vanilla Pythons?

I agree - let's see the pictures as sounds great! So far as I know Walt is one of the last of Python masters still around. Others are deceased, retired or in other endeavors with the exception of Cylinder & Slide. Last I knew about 4 years ago Walt got about $295 for the roller action tune.

QUALITY engraved guns almost always appreciate more than standard guns.

I'd say that a Sherman gun with quality engraving should rise in value faster than a standard Python.

Well, I got 2 problems with posting: everything is packed up for our move to Texas, and I don't have a website to load a pic to! But, I promise to find one and take some photos when I get unpacked. It is a beauty and smoothest DA I ever had, including some Wiegand Smiths....
