I was watching several pistols sold at the Rock Island Auction this past weekend and I ran across this Prewar National Match. I have looked at this one several times and for the life of me cannot comprehend why it went for only $4,600. The description says 97% original finish. I can tell nothing from the photos.

What am I missing?

Didn't mention in the description about the S/N on the slide matching the frame...possibly a mis-match.
Possibly, but wouldn't that be a material fact that should be divulged. With an estimate price of $2,500 to $3,750 something must have been amiss.

Doesn’t happen often but there are occasionally good deals at big auctions. Sometimes things just slip through.
this one looks like a nice gun. Could be a Swartz Safety equipped pistol too.

I would like to know how they knew it was a "replacement" trigger? Also they did not mention if original finish and the pictures neither confirmed or denied originality.

Actually the decsription did mention "Original Finish"

"Excellent. 97% plus original blue finish remains with some light handling marks"
