CZ uses Philips head grip screws on most of its models. A total abomination. They must have gotten a couple million screws for free from some vendor and decided to save $0.05 per gun by using them. Good thing proper slotted or Allen head aftermarket screws are available.
I agree, the grips in the photo look like someone's summer camp project made with some kind of molding material.

'Back In The Day', for some unknown reason, making molds was a popular thing - I distinctly remember a toilet seat with glitter, and another with bright, shiny coins, and there's no end to the scorpions and snake heads still trapped in that modern-day version of 'amber'.

The Scouts even offered a neckerchief slide kit featuring several designs - all that was needed was Plaster of Paris and some sort of loop - and paint - it was a popular thing at camps, back when Scouts would trade them.

There was also acrylic art sets that you mix the two parts stir to mix then pour into the mold that you've put shells, insects, etc in to the acrylic as it solidifies. The plastic got very warm as it was setting up.
