The Colt holster catalog and price list from about 1970 (catalog #CH 70-1, price list CH-201 dated 5/1/70), show the number H7034 holster was for a Colt Commander. The catalog number specifically indicates a holster with safety strap, black color and basketweave stamping. Some, but not all, Colt holsters of this era had the Colt rampant horse on the safety strap snap. It's in nice condition and these are pretty scarce today.
After spending thousands of dollars over the years on quality holsters one consideration when purchasing a new gun is will I have to buy new holsters. I just ordered a Mernickle PS6 for my LTW Commander. Any opinions on Mernickle holsters? Thanks.
