What all can you tell me about my Dragoon?

Serial Number is GCA1179

It appears to have been 'In the White' from the get go.

Case Hardening colors are quite nice on the Frame.

Were some of these left In-the-White in anticipation of being Engraved? Or..?

Sorry my images are sub-par, seems like it is always Night time and the indoor Lighting is easily glaring.

Has Oil-film 'wrinkles' on the Address line...otherwise 'as new' far as I can tell.

The serial number GCA1179 indicates that it is an (F-1740 EGA) Colt 3rd model Dragoon "Giuseppe Garibaldi Special Edition." The serial number range: GCA1000 to GCA1299. They made approximately 206. Production: 1982. The NIB value is $1050.

But yours is the (F-1740 EGA) Colt 3rd model Dragoon "Giuseppe Garibaldi Freak Dragoon in-the-white." The serial number range falls within the range listed above. They made 94. Production: 1982. The NIB value is $800.

Here is mine (limited edition, not "in-the-white): Serial number GCA1018. There should be some etching (decal) on the glass of the case of Garibaldi riding a horse, but that has about half wore off.

Thanks gunner5!

"Freak Dragoon"??

Kind of a curious name!

When I got it, ( Gunbroker, some years ago ) it came in the Colt Black Powder Cardboard Box with the fitted Foam inserts ( and no accoutrement ) and, the inserts appear to be for a Walker.

So...no 'Box'...but, it was and is in the plastic Bag anyway.
