Do you think it's original and in good condition?
it must be considered that this should be from 1877.
Thank you again

I like that you can still see the etched panel. It looks nice to me.

I think you're on to a good one. It looks pretty darned ok from those couple pictures. An 1884 BP framed FSS that appears all original with the full panel still visible - very nice!

Overall the gun looks very good. When you look close you can see the trigger is most likely a replacement based on the thickness. 1st gen guns had thin triggers. The cylinder pin also looks like a replacement. In one picture the front looks polished and it is a bit too nice for the rest of the gun. The screws may also be replacements as the patina is not quite the same. These are all small issues and very common. The grips look excellent and the fit is great. The etched panel is visible and that is a huge bonus. Like I said overall this is a very nice gun.

Let us know if you acquire it? If you do please post more pictures and any known history. Good luck!

Looks like foreign proof stamp on the cylinder. Looks good to me. Caliber stamp on triggerguard. Nice grips too.

In Italy, that will be one expensive revolver! Very nice considering the life it has had.

I am negotiating the price with the seller.
For me the price is very demanding; here are 3 salaries (monthly).
But unfortunately it is our salaries that are low for these passions.
Certainly if I can bring it home, I will take pictures and details, and publish them on my site.

As others stated, a desirable revolver with the visible acid etched panel despite a few replaced minor components.

It now depends on the price. Let’s start with what is the asking price?

... he doesn't want to go below 5,000 euros.
I think it's too much money ...
but here it's very difficult to find "old" colts (before 1900). There isn't much choice.

I don’t know…

$2675 doesn’t get you much in the Single Action Army world these days, in the States. Probably even less in Europe. Twice that is $5350, which is €5000. In the States, I think I would prefer to get this one in the $4000 to $4500 range, which is €4000. But that’s where Colt revolvers are much more prevalent. In Europe, they are much less common—how long until you find one like it again? Due to being uncommon in Europe, this revolver very well could be worth €5000 there.

It all comes down to how badly do you want it?

if I have to be honest, I really want this saa.
And unfortunately the seller knows it; he understood it very well.
I don't know if in the USA this piece can be worth $2500 or $3000; I ask you how much could this piece be worth in the USA?
Here in Italy the SAA of those years are very very very rare, and very often they are assembled with parts from many different revolvers.
Because few arrived here, and because there were no spare parts.
You think that here today it is difficult to get a spare part of an S&W or a Colt from the 2020s ...
Italian laws increasingly hinder the trade of everything related to weapons.
And for the USA it is not convenient to send material to Italy because the internal demand is already very high.
A very very bad SAA was sold last month for €3800 plus 25% auction fees. Bought by a German. And it was to be "completely redone" ...
I think ... if I make it I will acquire this piece; and I hope it stays in the family for a long time.
Please let me know how much this six shooter might be worth in the USA ... as far as you can see from the photos.
Thank you

I have seen a tremendous price increase as of late on antique ( pre 1898 ) Colts especially etched panel guns. I think the asking price may well below what would be asked over here. 4000 to 5000 seems very reasonable for this gun. I would not let it get away if i were you.

I agree, that’s what I was saying.

I would like to get it for $4000 to $4500 over here. $5000 isn’t unreasonable now.

In Europe, €5000 is likely reasonable, if not even a little on the light side these days.

Every purchase comes down to would you rather have the money or said item. Even when it comes to minor purchases—would you rather starve or buy groceries? I’d rather have this revolver than €5000.
