As the new Python becomes more common and available, what is the New Python worth on the used market? If people expect them to worth more than what they paid new, I seriously doubt it. Selling around $1,400 new, I would expect they will sell in the near future for $1,000 - $1,100. Condition as new. Fired, less. We will have to see what the “Blue Book” says.

I own a new Python and I had never dream of that become a collectible like the original (unless discontinued later). So it is my range toy to enjoy. The price is coming down, recently seeing lots of $1.3k brand new online. I think it will continue to go down (in relation to the high inflation).

Supply and demand dictates that it has to be worth less than what one could buy a new one for currently when they’re becoming available in many places for msrp or less and still being made at a fast pace too.
I would have to think that anyone wanting to sell a new factory stock python is not because it would be to make money on the gun. .. I think it would have to be sold at a loss (unless acquired below msrp originally.)maybe to fund another project or they have to .. or just doesn’t like it.

Fascinating how so many have poo pooed the original Pythons as crap compared to the new ones but the value is in the original ones and prices keep sky rocketing while the new ones are dropping fast! Just crank up the robots and spit out more new Pythons for the market! I won't own a new one just like I'll never own a Glock! I'm just an old curmudgeon who has shot and collected the original Colt Pythons, Diamondbacks and Detective Specials for over 40 years! Love 'em!

Prices on the originals are dropping as well. I know because I've been keeping my eye out for one for a long time. They're still expensive but nobody is selling a plain vanilla variation for $4000+ anymore. They're now close to half that.

And to answer the OP, when you sell a firearm that is still available brand-new you're going to take a hit on it unless you find a sucker. Only when they're discontinued and the supply becomes finite are you ever likely to get more than you paid for it.

I would expect a used "new" Python would reasonably be priced @ 10% less or so. JMHO
