Was looking at semi autos at the Colt web site just for fun. What do you think is the best bargain/deal for the money? The stainless Gold Cup Trophy at a suggested Retail Price $1,116 looks like it has the best gun to money ratio. I was surprised the Gunsite .45 cost more than a Gold Cup.
Opinions anyone?

Depends on what you plan to do with it. For general use you really don't need adjustable sights or all the other gizmos. The most fun I have had with 1911a was with plain old standard Government Models.

I agree . It depends on you needs .
For carry use , a gun with low profile fixed sights is probably best .
If range use is your intended use , then the Gold Cup would be a great choice . Then you can regulate the point of impact for whatever ammo you are using .

I tend to look most at the finish...I just can't stand how Parkerized finishes wear, so if I can get stainless, that's the most important thing to me. I'm such a lousy shot, the quality of the gun is almost irrelevant...it shoots better than I do no matter what.
