I'm a pack rat and can't throw anything away, as "it may come in handy one day". Here's a couple of pieces I have made out of discarded gun barrels: One using the leftovers from a shortened shotgun, the other one a Python barrel full of bullets. This is what I do when I need a break from all the work in the shop: I work a little in the shop... ;)

Some old muzzle loading rifles suffered the fate of having the long heavy barrel turned into a pry bar after the rifle became outdated by the new cartridge rifles.

I believe musket barrels were used as rebar for the concrete work on Bannerman's Castle.

How many slugs did Bubba jam down the pipe before he saw what he was doin'?
It would appear that he reloaded after the first six got stuck in the bore.
I am having a difficult time tryin' to get my tiny little pea brain around how he did it.
Do you suppose he got the message after slugs actually fell out of the muzzle?

Beautiful work, though, and rather poignant.

Lol.....More likely his last try got stuck in the cylinder gap and jammed up the works. Amazing!
