I picked up a US Army stamped 1901 model, 38 long Colt, with the serial number of 197149. Does anyone have the serial number/year dates where they can tell me what year this one was manufactured? Ray

I believe yours is a variation of the Model 1892 and was built in 1903. These were all variations of the "New Army Navy" (2nd Issue).

That one is the first variation of the 1892 and yours was made in 1895.
I might ask, where are you finding these fine old pieces?

The revolvers are part of my manikin displays for the SAW period. The manikn on the left dressed in the 1898 1st pattern khaki jacket has an Art. SAA Colt. The middle 1902-08 manikin has the 1901 Colt and the one on the right in the 1883 pullover shirt has the 1894 model. Ray

INTERESTING! Are you building some kind of military museum and are these vintage pieces (guns) yours or on loan? INTERESTING! We would love to know more and thanks for the pix.
