When you THINK you\'ve seen it all...........

Just when you think you've seen it all, and you're SURE Colt "never did that", you get slapped in the face.

Recently, I was asked if there was any such thing as a "transition" Colt Trooper Mark III to Mark V.

I said NO.

Well........

Here's a non-existent transition Colt Trooper Mark III, with a Mark V vented barrel.

Some day I'll eventually learn NEVER to say never about Colt.

I wonder if that question on another forum was about that specific gun? I like your concern for accuracy in any of your responses on these forums. Anyway, interesting piece!

This Mark III/Mark V transition question came up over on the GunBroker forum quite some time back, and someone produced a picture of a Mark III with a Mark V barrel configuration. It was a new one on me too.

Hi dfariswheel,

No problem! But I can imagine that due to shortage of parts or whatever reason Colt decided to exchange parts. Fun of course is that you get an unusual piece of shooting equipment. That is one of the reasons I got infected by the Colt virus.
