I voted for the 4 3/4” in .45 Colt. Which is my second choice personally. But my favorite total package SAA is the 4 3/4” in .32/20. The balance, to me anyway, is downright perfect. A pleasure to shoot. JMHO.
Old Tanker, I love post #34 not just for the SAA, but also the video about Bloody Harlan. I live a couple counties over from Harlan County, Kentucky and I can remember my dad taking me to Harlan during the bloody mine strikes in the 60’s and early 70’s. Those were tough times and real men. They changed the world.
As long as it’s an .45, I don’t have a favorite barrel length.
I was interested in the 10” 1986 to fit in perfectly ( my ivory BPF is 8”),
but I was maxed at 1800 and he wasn’t budging @ 23 hondos.
Eventually I will get STOREKEEPER & SHERIFF models.
I would purchase smaller caliber if liked configuration, have to be a smokin deal though !
I can’t even have a favorite SAA , or Colt for that matter.......Love and Cherish them all .
I fell in Love with my Colt SAA 4 3/4 in .38-40 WCF (gift) and bought another to match. Both are from 1900. Then I traded into the Colt Bisley model (1902) with 4 3/4 bbl also in .38-40 WCF. I have 2 Winchester 1892's and a Colt Lightning pump Rifle in ,38-40 WCF.
