Looking all over the internet for a leather holster for my new 3" Python, but only finding models for the 4.25". I would prefer one made for the 3" Python, but would accept one that would "fit". Which models of S&W, Ruger, Taurus, etc with 3" barrels would work?

I have a Galco Phoenix for my 4.25" but would prefer one an inch and a quarter shorter. Any recommendations?
Did you ever find one? I’m I the same boat.

El Paso Saddlery makes holsters for a 2.5" Python that's open at the bottom and would work. You can always contact them about adding the extra 1/2" to the bottom. They've done some requests for me before.

Sad thing is the wait for a good holster is akin to waiting for the 2nd coming of the Messiah
If you can deal with a tad longer Python holster I have one in as new condition up for grabs. Made by Sam Andrews. Carried twice. Maybe 3 times. You COULD go the Milt Sparks route. They make a PMK for the 3” Python. I ordered mine last September. May have it by July🤷‍♂️

I have a garrett for my 2.5 that is also open at the bottom that might work ,look up garrett ...silent thunder warrior IWB . It kinda hides for concealed carry depending on your attire .

I like that snake bit link a lot . Especially for $50 . I carry my night Cobra in a similar desantis , black , with 3 slots . Mine was more than 50, and still a great value.
As evidence of inflation, that $50 Craft is now $85. I only have one Craft holster (paddle for the 4.25" King Cobra 22). It's okay, but nothing special.

I've bought a few since my last post in this thread. All these are available for either the 2½" or the 3" Python. Depends partially on your tollerance for wait.

My #1 choice for OWB wins in concealability, verstility (strongside or crossdraw), price (starting at $90) and wait time (usually just a few weeks) is the Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake. I've got about 10 variants for different revolvers and barrel lengths, from a 6" Anaconda down to a 1â…ž" J Frame (Silver Dollar Pancake version).

Milt Sparks is great leather, but their cost is much higher and wait times up to 40 weeks. Shown are my shark trimmed PMK and Versa Max 2 IWB with 3" Python.

Kramer are great quality holsters, but my 2½" Pythons conceal and carry better in the Simply Rugged and Kramer wait times are 6 months +/- (despite the website saying much less). Shown are their Belt Scabbard with 2½" Python and MSP Paddle with 3" Python.

The Silent Thunder Warrior for revolvers is leather lined Kydex IWB that is a good option for fairly fast availability.

Galco's Miami Classic II is a multi fit, open at the muzzle and will work for 2½" to 4¼" Pythons.

I'd order the Sourdough Pancake from Simply Rugged, then order whatever others you think you want, and carry in the Simply Rugged while you wait for the others. Compare them when they finally arrive.

I was wondering if anybody tried TT Gunleather. I am currently waiting for one for my 3” Python. His quality is second to none - I have been using his IWB and OWB offering for every semiautomatic I ever had. I just hope my revolver will feel in it as good as my other pistols.

just an example of his craftsmanship- my DW Guardian.

The Python 3" shoulder holster image you posted. Do you mind sharing where you purchased it TBone. Thank you brother!

Black hills leather will make you one for a 3” gun or any other barrel length for that matter. Good price great quality
Thank you - just placed an order for a BH holster for my Anaconda. Almost nobody has dummy Anaconda to form proper holsters for Anaconda. I was going in circles. And I specifically looked for a quick snap on models. They have one. Now I am anxious a bit about the fit and quality as I am not familiar with this maker yet, but I gave it a shot.

That's a Galco Miami Classic 2 (Left hand). May have bought it direct from Galco, I think they had a discount code at that time. There are probably several places that have it in stock if you Google it (especially if you are right handed).
