I did a bunch of google searches and could not find a straight answer.

I have loaded up some Cartridge using "777" with the anticipation of trying them out at an indoor Range, when suddenly it occurred to me, that when I had been using it about ten years ago, I kind of think it made a lot of Smoke, which of course, would be no good for the Hospitality aspect of an indoor Range.

Can any of you tell me please, if '777' makes too much smoke, for a usual indoor Range?

I know that some cowboy action shooters use it in Frontier cartridge category where making smoke is a requirement.

I use Triple 7 for some handgun cartridges and think it makes less smoke than real BP , which I also load. Doesn't stink of sulpher though.

I've shot .38 and .45 ammo loaded with lead bullets lubed with Alox and Unique that rivaled BP loads though.

Thank you! I'll do that...

This is 2019 and I will not be surprised if the Range has never heard of '777' to have any idea, but, ya never know, so I will call them and ask..!
Sorry if I sounded like a smart-elic. Was not trying too. Just ask them if it is OK to shoot a Black Powder substitute.

Ohhh, no, you didn't!

I just kind of know this Range, and it is all about "now" stuff and mostly young Military people for customers.

Anyway, just called them, and they have no familiarity with "Black Powder Substitutes" at all, are were not sure they had ever even heard of such things.

I asked if I could come by and if no customers shooting, could I try one round of '777' and they can see if it is okay with them, and they were scared to allow this but would ask the Boss about it.

So...we'll see...
