I have a natural wood table next to the window I use sometimes but the best for me is to shoot on the porch because the roof cuts out sky glare-reflections on metal surfaces. I used a 4x4' white bounce card to catch the hard sun and bring it in soft on the gun. I only use soft bounce light, a tripod, long exposures and F 16-22 for max detail.
