Sometimes I would like the story of such a gun. Why buy one of the most expensive revolvers in 1927 and not use it? A gift that was not liked - caliber too big for target shooting? Did someone want the box for keeping old buttons in it????
Nice, unused old Colt. That one had to have been kept indoors and in a box, with a very light coat of oil whenever handled (which wasn't often) for close to 100 years. Strange when that happens, but it's a good case study of how they looked in those years.
The grips on this one are just so nice. Really rare to find any prewar gun with the light colored, untouched and non oil darkened finish. Not to mention the absolute perfect fitment seen on only factory fitted grips. They are numbered to the gun too.
