Tried and tried cant take down early 20s woody. So I put it in the sonic cleaner apx 15 minutes. Blew out excess water as best as I could. Sprayed it with a lube that dries quickly, not the powdery. Should I have done Remmy's and left it a little oily?

Spray with water displacing oil at once.

Dry warm, then use one of the proprieatary lubes.

and remove the grips and magazine if not already done. lock the action open and I would place in the oven at 170 for about 3 hours, let air cool, then lube.

Take the stocks off and with the action open blast it with a hair dryer for a while. Then spray it with wd40. Hopefully that gets rid of any moisture....

Another way to dry, is just immerse in Boiling Water for five minutes or so ( Stocks off, Magazine Out, Breech locked open ) and, then, shake out as much Water as possible, and let dry on a Towel.

It looks like the run of the mill Woodsman. I push the button, put pressure on the backstrap, pull the trigger and I still can't get it apart. that's why I gave it a bath.

That little old 22 went from a Teflon sock in my safe to a fuzzy case, to the range, back in the case then into the sonic tub.

Maybe something's wrong with the way you disassemble the woody. Push the button and pull back the slide so the plate (assembly lock) will hold the recoil spring. Push forward the slide then pull the trigger. This will loosen the back strap (mainspring housing) and as you apply pressure to it, the same will snap out. Hope this will help.

Not yet. It's one of my favs. Never a hiccup

I would not recommended Woodsmans and hot tubs. Course we sometimes took our M16s in the shower if they were really dirty. Hair dryer works good for drying.
