I took one of my Colt Woodsman pistols out to the range today only to discover it had a problem. It would feed from the magazine properly, but would only fire the cartridge once in about 5 tries. Once I got home, I took it apart and discovered a broken firing pin. Ok, that's not the problem, here's the problem. It appears that a screw is broken off in the firing pin retainer, blocking the proper way to remove it (thread in the grip screw and lift out). So, now I have an otherwise nice Woodsman with a broken firing pin and no way to repair it! There is a little bit of access thru the extractor hook hole, but not much. I would be delighted to hear any and all suggestions about how to fix this!
