Gave my woodsman a bath last weekend. I've given my other Woodsman the same treatment months ago, but this time it came out different. A lot of the bluing wasn't there any longer just a nice patina. It was missing a lot of bluing originally, now even more. I used Lyman's cleaner solution, not brass cleaner as I did with the other. I'm wondering if it had some newer bluing applied.

I have seen this before with a German Luger. The pistol looked great, but after a cleaning, some of the blue is gone! A quality blue job by a restoration expert or a hot blue will not be removed by ultrasonic cleaning. The Lymans cleaner should not remove a hot blue solution.
