These are wonderful old Pis & wstols.
I have one very similar to yours, and it is one of my favorites.
As s&w ucla relays, 'Standard Velocity' Ammunition is what these were made for.
Most now-a-days .22 Long Rifle is too Hot for these, so, you have to look around and or make double sure, that the Ammo you are buying is not High Velocity, and often-enough the packaging is not very clear about which it is, so, be careful when buying Ammo for it.
