12,ooo sn range would be about mid 1919, a "pre-woodsman" with "pencil" barrel. It would be best to shoot only standard velocity ammo. Lots of info at colt22.com. Neat gun especially with family history. Sometimes I think I would do better on pheasant with a 22 than I do with a shotgun
