Hi folks,
I am a brand new hand gun owner and for my first model I bought a 2017 Colt Cobra. I am in NYS so I need to carry concealed. I've had a heck of a time finding a holster that fits. Have you had any luck? None of the moulded cases seem to be for this specific model (all are for the version that stopped production in the 1980s) and the padded generic cases I found at the local store don't really seem to fit right.
I am looking for a daily carry holster, Right handed cross draw. I would love a moulded one like you find for most semi-automatic but would settle for anything secure that I can easy wear and have easy access.
The added challenge is I hike in the backcountry a lot and carry a full pack with waistband and chest strap; this is the main reason I got my hand gun so I need a good way to carry it along with my pack but also be concealed. A regular belt-mount wouldn't likely do the trick because of the backpack waistband and the elastic belly wrap type would be under a layer of clothes further secured by the backpack chest strap so I was looking a "tactical rigs" like drop leg holsters or shoulder holsters but all the ones I've seen are obvious its a gun and don't have a flap or something to be in compliance with the carry concealed rules.
Instructors and members at the local club are all pistol enthusiasts so they haven't been able to help too much and this is such a new model that I can't find much online. Any tips or directions you can give me would be very much appreciated.
