I just picked up a new 6" today. The front of the cylinder release is blued, the trigger is blued and the hammer is blued. I'm guessing that's one way they've held costs down a bit on the new ones. I will say, though, that I'm just plumb tickled with the new gun. Finish is perfect, not a single flaw that I can see. It's very dark, almost black, and a lot like what you see on the Single Action Colts these days. I'd say it's perhaps not as "bright" as the classic, older Python but nearly identical to the later old models and very, very nice. Kudos to Colt. They got it right this time.
