If/When the new anacondas in 44 mag. start piling up at the distributors, then it’s possible other calibers could be introduced by Colt to keep production brisk. Or it’s already in the pipeline. One could always call Colt and ask the question. If the new anaconda comes out in 45 colt, the older models will drop in price. Myself personally I wouldn’t pay much more than current new model anaconda prices for an older anaconda in 45 colt. And I have an older 45 colt anaconda 6”. A few weeks ago was the first time in almost 20 years that I had both 44 and 45 revolvers at the range at the same time. Slightly uploaded 45 colt and downloaded 44 magnum or uploaded 44 special all ring the metal plates at 50 or 100 yards the same. If one is a reloader, 44 magnum is a great cartridge as the shooter decides what velocity works for his needs. And of course one has a choice of 44 special options as well.
The reason it was that long that I had those 2 calibers together at the range, a long time ago, I was shooting my 45 colt new frontier with ammo that sounded funny. Sure as heck, I loaded 44 special into it. Never thought I would ever do that but I did. For all these years, if I took 45 caliber guns to the range, then no 44 and visa versa.
