Just picked up a 1860army model with serial number 16522. Mfg date is 1861. I think it may be a civilian model. Any more info about this revolver would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Might be wrong, but I thought that the original 1860 Army revolvers issued during the Civil War to the Union that were martially marked and also the civilian pieces did not have a U.S. marking anywhere on them. The arsenal reworked revolvers after the war had the U.S. mark on them.
True, no military 1860 Armys were stamped ‘US’ on the frame from the factory. The arsenal re-works with mixed numbers usually were stamped somewhere. For some reason Larry Wilson thought it would be cool to stamp the 2nd generation frames with ‘US’.
Checked it out really well and I don’t see any U.S. markings anywhere except the top of the barrel which is normal.
