"A note about the lack of serial number: contrary to some people's concerns, this pistol is perfectly legal without serial numbers. While it is illegal to purposely remove or alter the serial number on a firearm, serial numbers were not actually required prior to the 1968 Gun Control Act. If a firearm was originally manufactured without a serial number it is perfectly legal."
