Looking at a Colt Cobra, at a local gun shop. She's stated to be a 1962, two tone aluminum frame and blued cylinder. I can't find this variation in any books, Is she legit?

Looks to me like someone bead blasted the frame. Heaven only knows why. I doubt very strongly it left Colt looking that way.

My Colt Cobra. I am deciding if I can keep it or not. Arthritis in my hands getting pretty bad. :( View attachment 768006 View attachment 768006
I’ve been dealing with the same issue. I’m dealing with it though by reloading my own and loading them to the minimum safe loads. I use the Hogue rubber grips and load 125gr Berry’s plated bullets with Accurate Nitro 100NF at minimum to near minimum loads. I find fast powders and light bullets give less recoil.

I’m also using Caldwell padded shooting gloves and only shooting 50 rounds or less at a time. I’m able to shoot 50 rounds and not have pain. Also if I’m having a bad day of pain I use CBD salve on my wrists. I’m also considering using wrist braces / splints or ace bandages to help stabilize the joints.

I hope you find a solution. Love my Cobra!

New retro Cobra Special

Nice looking...better than the standard stainless version. All Colt would need to do is make a run in that finish with the original design exposed ejector rod and they would sell out in a heartbeat. TALO...Davidsons...are you listening?

I agree completely. This "special run" hit all the checkmarks for me;

classic wood grip panels
solid, brass bead sight
DLC finish (royal blue would be better, but that's not going to happen)

Those minor touches give it a whole new personality.

Here's a new addition. 1952 4" Cobra. I was happy to acquire this one as you don't see them often.
