Colt SAA clones

What is your favorite Colt SAA clone? A friend of mine just bought a Standard Manufacturing SAA and I have to admit it's a beautiful, well done clone. But if I was going to spend 2K plus on a clone I'd rather hold out for the real thing. The Colt SAA has been my hands down favorite Colt for decades. The best IMO are the 2'nd Gen examples with their better steels. I have a few 3'rd Gen SAAs and they are not bad. I recently saw a current production one at a LGS and a Colt stocking dealer and the case colors were horrid looking almost like rust. Now most Cowboy Action shooters I know either shoot Italian clones or Rugers, and I can understand why as real Colts are to valuable to abuse. At least with the Italian clones you can shoot and holster them forever and not worry about hurting the value. Later I've been looking at the Italians and some are rather interesting to buy as shooters. The EMF Hartford Models seem fairly close and the older short lived AWA Peacekeepers are even closer. So close that Colt sued them and they only lasted a short time. Here are a couple I recently spotted. The Hartford Model even has the Black Powder frame. The AWA Peacekeeper I'm still trying to figure out what the grips are.

Here is another SAA clone I came across today. It's an EMF Hartford model with a BP frame and the Colt like grips they were offering as an option. The end label was kind of washed out but the word Premium or Premier was partially visible. The revolver obviously has real case hardening not the chemical case colors so many of these clone have. I believe the revolver to be at least 30 years old. Should make a good shooter.

A friend just bought a Standard Manufacturing SAA and I have to say it's one beautiful and apparently high quality Colt clone. The case colors look like something Turnbull would do. The revolver is so beautiful that he's wondering now if he should even shoot it as he doesn't want to put any wear on it. I showed him a few of my clones and for a quarter of the price he could buy one and not worry about shooting the hell out of it.

Took some better photos this afternoon of my AWA Peacekeeper and I can understand why Colt sued them. Someone told me ASM built these for American Western

Arms then someone else said they sourced the parts from ASM and finished them here in the USA. Originally these came with a Colt style black grips with the pony in stride and not rearing. The previous owner put these exotic grips on it and they are perfectly fitted. I think they may be some kind of burl wood.
