M1911 Barrel ID?

An out of town friend just called me and asked if I could ID an old barrel that he has from a M1911. Here is the description: Top is marked with a "P" and "H" like from a 1918; Left lug has a "V" and Right lug has a "K". Both lug markings are in the Roman (with serifs) style. In front of the lugs is a "5". No other markings, including the back of the hood. I was thinking a late WWI military that someone had added markings on the lugs, but who knows. He will send pictures soon, and I will post them when I get them. Any ideas?

The three variations of the HP marked 1911 barrels. Top is earliest with the horizontal PH, or may be HP, middle is the vertical PH, and bottom is common leg HP.

Top barrel has J on left lug, and 5 in front of lug. Middle barrel has D on left lug, and B on right lug, nothing in front of lug. Bottom barrel has nothing on left lug, X on right lug, and 5 with unreadable mark in front of lug.

I don't think that is a written rule though is it?
My 1916 P over H has a 5.
