Firstly; It is NOT for sale!

I got this kit many years ago at the old Houston Astrohall Gun Show. It is new and factory boxed. I've never used it and probably never will. I'm posting it here for reference purposes. Those of you who are looking for one can see what a real Colt DOE upper package consists of.

Thanks for sharing, very interesting.

The only time I actually held and inspected a Colt 9mm full auto SMG (10.5" barrel) was back in 2006 when my local machine gun dealer was trying to sell it to me, it was in pristine like new condition.

Currently I'm trying to build a Colt pistol AR using Glock type mags, an AR6951 9mm upper receiver and 16" barrel that I'm cutting down to 10.5".

I've got all my parts except handguard, bolt assembly and stripped lower receiver.

In the past I had assembled myself a different RRA brand which is a clone of the Colt AR6951 9mm carbine.

Hi MG34_Dan,

I feel we may be traveling in a parallel universe. (BTW, thanks for the help on short linking 308 for the 06 guns) I've a boxed DOE upper also. I think mine was the budget version. It has almost all the same stuff as yours except for the sling loop. Rather odd.

Looks like it came from the same organization. I've had mine for over 21 years. I remember folks shooting these in local subgun matches and flipping the front sights down on door frames by accident :) Do you remember where you got yours?

BTW, the loader is a Safariland ML-2 SMG loader IIRC. Colt put their name on the ones that came with the Colts. Mines on a table in the shop. Have to track it down and get it back in the box!

We I was a federal agent, I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time at the DOE Central Training Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I got to shoot several of the DOE Colts, which were great SMGs. Later in my career I worked on a DEA Task Force, and they issued me one the the standard Colt 10 inch SMGs. It too was a great SMG.

I've since retired, but a few years ago I got a CMMG 9mm AR pistol, for all intents and purposes is a COLT SMG. I installed a Franklin Arms binary trigger in it, and it makes shooting double taps very easy.
